Our lamb is produced from a flock of Charolais cross Texel sheep. We lamb the ewes from the middle of March each year for a 4 week period. For us this is the most rewarding time of year but also the time when we are most busy!
The lambs are then reared slowly to allow them to develop naturally. The sheep are allowed to graze throughout the year on our species rich pastures at Harlesford farm and in the winter months they are given hay which is made on the farm during the summer when grass is plentiful.
Welfare is our continual priority and we do everything possible to make sure the sheep are healthy and happy.
We avoid the use of medicines but when necessary and on our vet guidance we occasionally use them to avoid undue suffering of the animal.
